From the Back Cover: Emma Keim was heartbroken when her husband Sanford passed away, leaving her to raise three young daughters alone. In the years since, her relatives have made it no secret that they expect Emma to remain a widow, mourning Sanford indefinitely. But when she meets Jay Hilty—a widower with three young sons of his own—Emma is delighted to have a new friend who understands her struggles. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s also handsome and kind. Still, Emma is dismayed that her family is so opposed to their friendship—and the idea of it ever becoming anything more. She honors her husband’s memory every day, but is she destined to be alone forever? Jay knows that few people his age understand what it’s like to lose a spouse, and Emma’s gentleness with his boys stirs something in his heart that’s been quiet for far too long. But when Jay’s oldest son becomes engaged to a local woman, suddenly Jay, Emma, and their children are swept up in wedding preparations. Witnessing his son’s joy, Jay wonders if it’s time for him to move forward, too, and find happiness again. Jay wants to court Emma in earnest, but Emma’s relatives remain troubled by the prospect of her moving on. Once again, love has come to Pinecraft. But can these two parties of four become a happy, healthy family of eight?

Bottom Line

This was such a heartwarming story of finding love again, especially after the loss of a loved one.

I

really enjoyed reading A Wedding at the Orange Blossom Inn. My emotions were on that roller coaster again. Such a awesome heartfelt novel set in beautiful sunny Florida! I was captured from the very first page. In a way I felt like I was there. The characters are so realistic and the emotions and trials each one has to go through or has already gone through touched me. Love sure can be found in unexpected places and when you least expect it.

This was such a heartwarming story of finding love again, especially after the loss of a loved one. Sometimes life will throw a curveball. I really felt for Emma in this novel. Her family had a hard time letting go and allowing for change to happen. Sometimes change can hurt and other times it is necessary to allow for healing in one’s life. I was glad to see she had a good friend that she was able to talk to and have pie with at Yoder’s. (Oh that yummy pie!)

It was also a nice twist to the storyline to see the young adults giving the older adults the advice in this one. Usually it is the other way around. Sometimes it is nice to reflect and listen to what our children have to say. I do believe all the kids in this one knew what they were about!

Young love is often times strong and confident especially when the heart knows exactly what it wants even if others don’t want to see it that way or they think things are moving too fast. I felt like Ben and Tricia’s love was like that.

So there is a new animal addition in this novel and he is literally full of it and funny it is amazing how Shelley has really captured this with Frankie the Beagle. Oh that dog he made me laugh and at the end of the novel had me gasping in shock! I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it. Thanks Shelley Shepard Gray for sharing your beautiful story!
